Pastor Scott's Welcome Message

Welcome to St. James Church! Welcome one another, which we read from St. Paul in Romans 17:6, is literally written above the door to our worship space at St. James, and we live it.

Celebrating 40 years of ministry in Southbury during 2010, St. James’ presence has been felt in the community by worship, music, service, outreach, and our PreSchool. We do BIG things in the church and the world, and yet we always maintain a smaller, FAMILY feel because we welcome one another.

So of course you are welcome browse around our website! Look for upcoming events that might interest you; find contact people for that question you may have had; learn about our PreSchool; or contact Pastor Scott.

You can also learn what Homefront, or James Ministry is, and who to talk to about that.

You’ll also see that St. James is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, almost 11,000 congregations and 5 million people of faith. Together, you’ll learn, WE are the first on the scene when disaster strikes, when food is needed, or where people are starving for justice.

You’re also welcome to learn about our partners in Mission, such as the Lutheran Home of Southbury, Camp Calumet, Maritime Ministries, Calumet Camping Ministries, and the ELCA World Hunger Appeal.

And it all comes down to welcoming one another in peace and faithfulness. So thank you for visiting our website! Just like when you worship with us, you are an answer to prayer and a blessing from God.

God’s Peace to you,

St. James Church
